Today Was Beautiful!

The day has been full of blue skies with wispy clouds, the wind blowing nicely and the sun shining everywhere. These are the days I love. It's now almost sunset and it's still pretty.
It's been a different day for me though. A girlfriend called and told me another close girlfriend of ours was not doing so well in her lung cancer battle. Not sure where that's going to end up but I'm very upset. She's a dear, dear lady. I'll continue to hold her in my prayers. We've been friends for over fifteen years.
Then I received a message on Facebook from a young woman who is like my niece. We've not seen or heard from her in about 5 years. So it was nice to find out how she's doing and where she is at. It's been an interesting day. My daughter and I enjoyed each others company and took a drive to Oviedo to go to a store there. Had a good time. I'm hoping tonight will be peaceful and restfull.

Hoping For Sunshine Today!

Sitting in my office looking out the window I finally see blue skies and the sunshine. It's been three days of gray, gloomy skies with rain. My soul needs to see the sunshine and brilliant blue skies. I'm hoping the clouds will move away and leave this day pretty and bright. It has been hard for me to keep in my happy spot without the sunshine.
I've got lots of work to do for Tide Dancer Publications and my writing. It appears my company might be shortly adding another author to it. The growth is slow but that's okay because it is a very small company. I hope you like the picture of the palm tree. It's the palm in my front yard. This picture was taken on a cloudy, sunny day. I think it's beautiful with all the colors in it.

Cold, Windy, and Cloudy !

So, to gain my happy place I've downloaded another picture that makes me feel good. The palm tree in my front yard before we trimmed the fronds. I like how the brown fronds against the orange and green ones look. Lots of color variety. Then setting it against the brilliant blue sky with the sun behind it makes me feel better on this cold, windy, cloudy day. The temperature is only about 55 degrees or so. Had to turn on the heat last night and it's still on. Grumble.
That's when I come here, sit back, relax, look at all my pretty pictures and begin to feel better and once again my Oasis has helped put me into a much better mood. I like it when it's pretty and nice outside. I guess I'll sit here for awhile then get busy trying to do a little cleaning in this office. Yes! I can feel the relaxing effect of this place coming over me now. I'll post again another day as I'm leaning back in the chair, closing my eyes and enjoying.

Beautiful, Cool Day in Sunny Florida!

I'm sitting in my office at the computer and occasionally I glance out the window and see the beautiful blue sky. The wind is gently blowing causing the palm fronds to gleam in the sunlight as they wave back and forth. This is one of the things I love about where I live.
I am trying to get my office into some kind of order instead of putting up any further with all the clutter in here. When I have to pull some file or paper for my writing or business, I can't put a finger on it so I'm being firm in my resolve to clean it up. It helps that the day is wonderfully pretty. The business looks like it might beginning to grow. I've potentially got three writers interested in having Tide Dancer represent them as their publisher. All three books sound good based on the chats I had with them. So, I'm looking forward to possibly adding more authors to my company's roster. Peace and happiness are wished for you today.

Relaxing Moments

I really like how this picture turned out. The shadow of the palm tree upon the sand came out quite nicely. I took it the early part of January and the day was cold for our area. I was enjoying myself taking shots by the lakefront.

It's now after midnight and as I sit here writing this post I can hear the rain falling outside adding to the peaceful calm of the evening. Enjoy the weekend all.

Post Christmas Writing

I hope this finds you happy with warm thoughts and memories of Christmas. Here's a picture of this years Christmas Tree. My Christmas was terribly busy but full of surprises and great gifts. My brother and his wife, whom we've not been able to see in nine years surprised us by coming down to visit us for five days over Christmas. They just left this morning. We had a great time and enjoyed talking over memories as well as making new ones.
This year we held Christmas Eve gathering at my son's home. It was a lot of fun and wonderful to watch our grandson open his Christmas gifts. Then we came home and spent most of the late hours wrapping gifts. Christmas morning we all enjoyed opening the gifts from each other. Everyone was pleased with their gifts. A pleasant day followed and it turned out quite nice for all.
Now we received word that our sister and her husband will be stopping by for a few days over New Years. We've not seen her in about four years so we're quite anxious to see them. I hope this finds everyone happy and ready for an exciting new year.
